He is one of the most senior Instructors here in Sydney and Australia, with a vast experience in teaching and dancing to Latin music, with a unique Suave style.
Fernando has traveled the world teaching, performing and competing, which has given him the experience and knowledge required to teach how to dance at any level.
Australian born, but raised in South America (Chile), Fernando has been a professional dancer for 23 years, winning Championships here in Australian, and overseas, also been a finalist (5th) in the World’s most prestigious Street Salsa Competition: Club Mayan, in Los Angels, USA.
He has taught and performed at many Salsa & Bachata Congresses around the world, as well as in every state in Australia. A teacher of Beginners and Advanced Dancers, has trained several Australian Champions and Performance Teams, and also has taught Instructors on how to teach dancing.
Whenever you watch him dance or teach, you can see the passion and love for the Latin music he has, that takes over naturally when you watch a master move, smoothly and effortlessly, which can only be described as: “SUAVE”
After trying several dance studios, Salsa Suave is the only studio. Fernando is a fantastic teacher who keeps the class fun and light with great knowledge. This approach makes all students relaxed and builds a great sprit among us. Never had so much fun!
Fernando and his team are amazing!! They are so talented. Great atmosphere. Excellent teachers, super friendly, patient. Soooo much FUN!!! Wish I started earlier. I normally find dancing very difficult and to keep up with a routine, but it has been so good!! Highly recommend for people to try a class.
Fernando is not only a great skilful dance teacher but also a supportive and friendly person. You will never feel shy or awkward in his class he will make the environment funny with full of excitement. I have been going to his salsa classes since 2016 and I’ve been loving it so far. I do really suggest his performance classes too if you want to show off your dancing skills to your friends and family and also to boost up your confidence.
The private lessons are fantastic. The instructors are very friendly, and make the experience fun and rewarding. Highly recommend!
Joined about 6 months ago off a random Groupon deal, and now I'm hooked. The classes are designed well for beginners under Fernando's instruction, and there's good progression to the higher levels. The atmosphere is relaxed, and students and teachers are friendly and don't take themselves too seriously

Great atmosphere, great instructors I had never danced before until I started at Suave and haven't stopped since. I love the way they teach. Very friendly staff and fun environment. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to learn from scratch or to brush up their salsa and bachata skills.
